At the Wisconsin Sociological Association, we strive to:
Anyone who shares our missing and interests is invited to sign up for membership. To learn about the WSA, please explore our website or contact one of the WSA officers.
The Wisconsin Sociological Association became incorporated on July 5, 1991, thought it's peer-reviewed academic journal has existed since 1960, making it the longest, continually published state sociology journal in the United States. Originally, it was titled The Wisconsin Sociologist, and in 1994 updated to have a more general title of Sociological Imagination.
Our experienced team is passionate about providing our members with opportunities and support for collaboration in service, plus education and scientific research in the social sciences.
The WSA Foundation Account allows us to provide grants to students to attend our meetings, and other such gifts. It also may be used on very rare occasion (as of 2025, only once in a prior year) to offset journal printing fees, or other fees to help maintain our organization. Instead, our Board works very hard to reduce WSA expenses to host its annual conference so the Foundation may focus on students. You may donate to our foundation using this link.

DownloadWSA has been a long-standing tradition in the Sociology Department at UW-Whitewater. I encourage all Wisconsin sociologists to get involved in this important organization.
WSA has provided a venue for Carthage College students to present research in a professional manner, attend awards ceremonies and meet with faculty and students around the state. For many of us, WSA is a superb introduction to professional conferences and networks in a non-threatening, supportive and lively format.
